KUALA LUMPUR, 20 Jan: Dengan penyertaan beberapa orang Melayu termasuk orang kuat Umno ke dalam DAP sejak akhir-akhir membuktikan dakwaan Umno bahawa DAP anti Melayu selama ini meleset sama sekali.Malah kata Naib Presiden PAS Datuk Mahfuz Omar (gambar), cubaan Umno menakut-nakutkan orang Melayu terhadap DAP itu ternyata gagal apabila terbaru bekas Presiden Kesatuan Wartawan Kebangsaan (NUJ) Mohd Hata Wahari menyertai DAP semalam.
Yang lebih menarik lagi, Hata Wahari adalah bekas wartawan Utusan Melayu, organisasi media milik Umno sendiri.
Perkembangan itu juga jelas Mahfuz membuktikan bahawa DAP lebih diyakini oleh sesetengah rakyat termasuk Melayu berbanding Umno dan MCA.
"Kita melihat sekarang ini bahawa DAP lebih baik daripada Umno mahupun rakan mereka MCA yang mana ia diterima oleh semua kaum termasuk orang Melayu itu sendiri.
"Kalau Umno dan juga media mereka mengatakan DAP itu anti kepada orang Melayu ataupun bersikap perkauman adalah fitnah semata-mata," jelasnya.
Semalam, Hata Wahari yang juga bekas wartawan Utusan Malaysia, menjadi orang Melayu terbaru yang menyertai DAP.
Selain itu juga awal bulan ini, penulis blog Sakmongkol AK47 yang juga bekas ADUN Pulau Manis dari Umno dan Mohd Ariff Sabri Aziz yang juga merupakan bekas Ketua Penerangan Umno Bahagian Pekan sehingga tahun 2004 telah terlebih dahulu menyertai DAP.
Turut dikatakan berbuat demikian ialah seorang lagi penulis blog Umno dan veteran parti itu, Aspan Alias.
Mengulas lanjut, Mahfuz yang juga ahli parlimen Pokok Sena berkata Umno sepatutnya menilai kembali sikap rasis di dalam parti mereka sendiri bukannya menuduh orang lain, apatah lagi dengan tujuan menakut-nakutkan orang Melayu.
"Bagaimana DAP yang dikatakan anti kepada orang Melayu boleh menerima kemasukan orang Melayu beragama Islam di dalam parti mereka, apatah lagi individu tersebut merupakan salah seorang kakitangan akhbar Umno sebelum ini.
"Fitnah yang telah dilemparkan oleh Umno selama ini telah gagal, orang Melayu bukannya takut tetapi semakin boleh menerima parti itu (DAP) dalam kehidupan mereka," kata Mahfuz.

Dear Devotees,
Before I commence of my letter-writing toward. All of you, I would like to inform all of you that I am not satisfy with the lawyer, Dato YIP KUM FOOK due to his bad inspirit impressions because he sent an inspector to come to our Buddhist Temple to arrest me without any good reason, moreover, the lawyer, YIP KUM FOOK is not satisfy with Chief monk.
When the Chief monk had me to go to his Temple already and he went away and left me alone to take care until Chief monk come back to the Temple first and he also told me not to leave the Temple if any committees or the chairman want to chase me out, you don’t leave the Temple at all understand? Then I said, alright? To the chief monk! On the second Day, YIP KUM FOOK came to our Temple and talk to me. He tired to make some inquiry from me and he asked me, where I come from? I told him that I came from Penang.
Then, I told to the lawyer (YIP KUM FOOK, MCA Man) that the chief monk came to Penang and fetch me and invited me to accompany him to go to his temple in K.L. I am not aware that YIP KUM FOOK is not in a good terms with the chief monk, chief monk already in this way, YIP KUM FOOK try to create trouble with me unnecessary. That is why, the lawyer want to chase me out of the Temple. Then I asked the lawyer, why you want to chase me out of the temple? Moreover, the Temple is not belonging to you, UNDERSATAND? Then, I asked him, who are you? I don’t know you at all, you have no right to chase me or control me at all, UNDERSTAND? You are just like a layman only. Do you know the regulations that any the chairman or committee cannot control the monks and the Nuns at all, also UNDERSTAND?
I scolded him like that. Then the lawyer (YIP KUM FOOK) is not satisfy with me and he told me that he will called the police to come to the Temple and arrest me. I told him to go ahead and called the police to come and arrest me. I won’t run away, I said to him like that. I have done nothing wrong toward you, why you want to arrest me? He said, he doesn’t like me to stay here. I asked him, why? Again. After this he got very angry with me, then he phoned up to the police and the police came to the Temple and told me to leave the Temple.
I told to the inspector of the again, 1 am sorry, I won’t leave the Temple because the chief monk had instructed me not to leave the Temple without his consent, UNDERSTAND? Then the inspector told me to leave, again. I told him I cannot leave the Temple because the Chief Monk hasn’t come back yet. This time, the inspector got very angry with me and he took out his handcuff and try to threaten me, then I immediately show off my hands for him to lock me up but he scare, then again, the inspector told me leave the Temple again but I still don’t want to leave the Temple.
Then I phoned up to the chief monk again and I told him that the inspector insisted want to arrest me, you better come back to settle the case for me. After this incident, Chief Monk came back to the Temple and take me to go to another temple and stay their. That’s all about this incidents! Last of all, I would like to inform all of you, that no committees or the chairman can control all the monks and Nuns at all also UNDERSTAND? “They are higher than the King,” also! So how can the laymen, the committees and the chairman to control them: – EVEN THE KING ALSO RESPECTED THE MONKS AND NUNS. Why the chairman doesn’t respect the monks and nuns? They will carry the sins later on, UNDERSTAND?

I find it rather surprisingly, that this monk has not managed to extinguish the burning emotions in him over an incident that occurred almost ten years back. The first time he wrote a similar letter to the one he posted recently was in the year 2006.
We must understand that, it is inevitable that sometimes conflicts and misunderstandings arise. That is the way things are. However, the wise one will learn to forgive and to let go. The wise one don’t keep grudges, ill-will, anger and hatred in their hearts. Such feelings will cause pain and suffering not only in this life but in lives to come. As the Buddha said;”Hatred never cease through hatred in this world, through love alone they cease”. However many holy words one reads, however many one speaks, what good will they do you if you do not act on upon them?.
There is always a reason to an action. Therefore, anyone who wishes to help him in the brotherhood of Buddhism should firstly; pose a few basic questions to him such as:
• Was he attached to the Singapore Anti-Narcotic Special Branch before he became a monk?
• Out of the hundreds of monks who have visited and stayed in the Temple, why was he the only one asked to leave the Temple premise by the Temple Committee.
• What was his true purpose of coming to the Temple then?
After consulting the Malaysia Buddhist Association and acting on the advice given then, the Temple Committee had no other options but to kindly persuade this monk to leave the Temple. Nonetheless, he refuses to leave. He then demanded some money which the Temple Committee relented and gave him a few hundred ringgits for his journey back to Penang. There are moments when things are not easily explained, these are moments when we let time speaks for itself that is; with time the truth will eventually prevail! No one is free from the karmic effects generated by one’s actions!
As practising Buddhist, we should let bygones be bygones. What lies behind us and what lies before us are tiny matters compared to what lies within us. When we continue to cling to the past and worry about the future, we will always live in grief and fear. When a person is wholly free from attachment there is no grief, much less fear. The Buddha taught us that; to be humble is to have wisdom. To regard yourself highly is to have attachment. The Buddha often warned his disciples not to be complacent after attaining wisdom. “One should behave like the rice plant; the riper and fuller the rice grains, the lower the rice plant bows down.
What really matters ultimately are the intangible things- love, kindness, gratitude, generosity, compassion and care we show towards others. The development of these qualities is our true wealth…..qualities that help us grow spiritually, qualities that lead us to true peace, happiness and freedom.
“To do good, avoid evil and to purify the mind”- this is the teachings of the Buddha.
